Arts Centre Washington has a thriving live music programme:

Saturday night's we play host to the award winning Davy Lamp Folk Club,

The last Friday of each month sees the some of the regions most exciting new bands take to the stage at Hothouse

Add to this our Recording Studio, Rehearsal Rooms, Community Music Space (free rehearsal and recording facilities for 16 - 25 year olds) and participatory activities such as Beat It (drum circle for 8 - 12 year olds) summer schools and our community choir all help make Arts Centre Washington a hub for musicians in the region.

BType + Shortside Avenue + Accidental Rebellion

Ordinary rappers dont tend to make a name for themselves playing anime conventions, opening for metal bands, or appearing at acoustic open mic nights. B-Type, however, is not your ordinary rapper. Based in his hometown of Sunderland, this self styled "8-bit" MC takes the soundscapes from retro video games and blends them with hiphop, before coating them with his high-octane, almost punk rock vocal style, creating something unique in the British music scene.

He has played for us on several occasions now and has charmed everyone with his unpretentious style and undoubted talent.
