The Washington Music Collective has
been an active part of the local community
for over twenty five years, through music
based activities, providing a practical
learning experience for young people, combined with a relaxed enjoyable
atmosphere.
The majority of WMC’s work is in the
organising, promotion and staging of
music events. Usually bi-monthly,
these events provide a first step for
young performers and an established
history and venue for touring bands.
Many of the North-Easts most talented artists have performed with us and are
aware of what we do.
As part of our development we began
programming under 18’s events with
the intention of providing a safe,
monitored environment for young
people to come and socialise/perform
outside of an educational
establishment. These events have proved very popular
and well attended.
